Echoes from the Edge: Gendered Solitude and Interior Worlds in Riverside Stories: Writings from Assam
Keywords:
Gendered solitude, MarginalizationAbstract
This paper explores themes of isolation and marginality in Riverside Stories: Writings from Assam. Using psychoanalytic frameworks, it analyzes how concepts like the uncanny, melancholia, and abjection shape women’s experiences of solitude. The study argues that while these narratives depict deep oppression, they also reveal forms of psychological resistance and self-negotiation within marginalized spaces.
