Indraprasth
Vol. 8 No. 1 (2019)Note from the Editors
Life constantly undergoes a process of change – so does literature. Its
study must evolve too. The present issue of Indraprasth brings novel
perspectives and nuanced perspectives to its readers: it represents a wide
selection of literary and scholarly articles exploring a variety of disciplines,
themes and ideas. The papers here seek new dimensions of looking at literary,
social and cultural contexts that shape human lives and narratives. They become
examples of how critical engagement with cultural production can not only
assist us in comprehending our today(s) but can also help us in raising questions
about our tomorrow(s).We would like to thank the sub-editors of this issue – Srishti Sharma,
Tanvi Garg, Tanuja Sharma, Saumya Sharma, Divya Khasa, Kajal Chaitanya,
Jaishree Kapur and Shweta Singh – for their hard work, commitment and
dedication. Without them, this issue would not have been possible. We would
also like to thank the students, faculty and staff of USHSS for their support.
Harshita Pandey and Ishaan Teotia deserve a special mention for proofreading
the manuscript.
We hope you enjoy reading these papers – we did.

Indraprastha -- VOL. V & VI, 2016-17
Vol. 5 No. 1 (2016)Literature in its varied forms has produced diverging, often antagonistic, attitudes towards life, language and thought. This double-issue of Indraprasth, accordingly, attempts to capture the variegated spectrum of responses that literature makes available for critical scrutiny. Cutting across academic profiles and institutions, the papers contained in this issue deal with critically less researched areas, texts, or perspectives, and seek to understand and decode texts from new dimensions and angles. Like its earlier avatars, this version of Indraprasth is also a result of concerted team effort. Many people have contributed in its making. It is with such a diverse ensemble of ideas, views and opinions that this volume of critical papers sets forth. We hope that the papers included in these volumes would help re-engage the readers with life, language and literature afresh, and this endeavour called Indraprasth would lead to a rigorous, deep and thorough critical engagement with the texts, authors, and ideas in question.

Indraprastha Vol. VII, 2018
Vol. 7 (2018)The world is in a constant state of flux – so are the languages used to describe it. Such a protean environment, as manifested in literature, often produces diverging attitudes towards life, language and thought. This issue of Indraprasth endeavours to capture the multiplicity of viewpoints, and the heterogeneity of such responses. Apart from research papers, it also contains Poonam Datta’s commentary on the paradox of English Literature in India and Garima Goyal’s review of Anita Nair’s The Better Man, and sets forth to examine a syncretic symphony of perspectives, ideas, and opinions.
